First Baptist Church Director of Youth Ministries & Missions Coordinator
Ashley Adams
Ashley Adams
Ashley Adams had a great example of Christ-like faith and love growing up under her parents and has a father who served in the ministry for 25+ years. Thanks to their example and the faithfulness of her Awana’s children’s leader she came to know Christ in 1995 just 3 weeks shy of her 9th birthday. From that moment on she knew God had a purpose for her life. At the age of 16 she surrendered to God’s call into the ministry and has been serving in some capacity of ministry since. To better prepare herself for her call she pursued a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Church Music at Charleston Southern University where she graduated in 2008. That Fall she began her first full time ministry as the Minister of Music & Education in Hemingway, SC where she served for 13 years. She is thankful to now be serving the people of Florence.
While finishing her last semester at CSU she met her husband, Josh, the true love of her life besides her sweet Savior. The two met and married in 10 months and have been happily married for 13 years. In February 2018 the two were featured on The 700 Club sharing their love story with the world. The two love to serve in ministry together whether it be music, missions, kids, youth, etc. Though Josh and Ashley have no children of their own, they love being surrogate parents to a bunch of teenagers and young adults. They also adore being an aunt and uncle to their three nieces and two nephews.
Ashley and her husband released three albums with their band Cross Covenant prior to 2015 and in 2017 Ashley released her EP Living the Abundant Life which is her testimony in music. She began a personal ministry page and blog called Grace in the Gaps in the Spring of 2021 to encourage people to see God’s grace in the story of their lives. She is hoping to release her book, Grace Filled Pages, sometime in the near future. Her life verse is John 10:10, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (NIV). She knows that a true and full life is only found in a relationship with Jesus Christ.
In her free time Ashley loves to travel, eat good food, play board games, bargain shop (especially for Operation Christmas Child), frequent a good coffee shop, take part in the Lake City Community Theater and spend time with friends and family.
