Moving Forward in 2021

The New Year has arrived and “Moving Forward” is on my mind. In the midst of the trials and tribulations of our time; the Gospel still must be preached, people still must be ministered to, the love of Christ still must be shared, and the Church of the living God is still in need of revival.
On the first Sunday of this year I began the AM Worship Message; Moving Forward, with a quote from Jack Holt. Here is that quote once again; “The pandemic has been bad. It has hurt a lot of people, it has hurt us too. I think we have proven in the past, America is going to get through this and it’ll work out. While it’s doing that, we want to keep moving forward...I’m blessed, I know I’m blessed and I’m thankful. But I know you have to have a willingness to work.” Jack was referring to the business aspect of “Moving Forward” even during a pandemic. As a church, we too must be “Moving Forward” and we must do so together.
Paul wrote “I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:14). Paul was referring to spiritual growth. Christ-likeness, which will not be complete until we are in His presence (upward call). “Moving Forward” reaches for this goal of spiritual maturation which begins with personal and corporate worship. It includes the spiritual disciplines, as well as the use of our spiritual gifts for the edification of the body of Christ.  Let’s join together in Worship, Ministry, Prayer, and in the study of God’s Word. I look forward to what God has planned for us this year. Let us be a church that is always “Moving Forward” for the Cause of Christ!

In His service, for His glory,

Pastor Michael
